Rajeev: Doctor told that it is a lifelong disease and you have to take medicine lifelong. At least mesacol and rebassa have to be continued.

Rajeev: After that, I have a friend from Ahmedabad who was also a ulcerative colitis patient. So I had a talk with him and he suggested me that Punjab Mohali are near to your place why don't you get treatment from there and then I came to know about you through him. And in January 2019 I started taking your medicines and got relief after two months. After two months you told to stop but I insisted to continue so it don't relapse again.

Rajeev: Previously I used to pass stool even for 10 times. I was in very bad condition and I lost almost 10 kg weight. And my Hb came down to 6 from 13. Now again my Hb has increased to 11 after taking your medicines like himcolin, cloto plan.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Arjuna and pitta balance is also included. Vatasakadi churan is also there. I also want to put some highlight on diet chart. This is updated diet chart. In this all dairy products are suggested to be avoided. Patient can take yogurt, cow ghee, moong daal khichadi, banana so all these things can be taken. Dhania (coriander) and pudina (mint) are also good as they contain calcium and helps in fulfilling its daily requirement. Olive oil, flax seeds oil should not be taken as they are hot in nature. Moong daal is good. In juices only take pomegranate juice up to 50 ml quantity. Rose petal juice can be taken. Marigold flower juice can also be included. If not able to find all these then Cloto Plan syrup is there which include all these. Maize flour can be taken, wheat flour in small quantity. For non-vegetarian non-veg soup is better. White part of egg can be taken. So all these things. Decoction made with Peel of pomegranate is good. Were you taking it too?

Rajeev: No sir, I was taking Vatsakadi Churna, Belgiri Powder.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Patient should not take Triphala churna and Aloe Vera Juice.

Rajeev: I was taking it before coming to you but stopped after that.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Aloe vera juice can cause diarrhea or purgation and in some time patients infection can also occur due to eating food outside or throat infection or tooth infection so in such conditions patient take antibiotics which is not good and should not be taken. Whenever there is tooth, ear, throat infection instead of taking antibiotics take natural Ayurvedic herbs like Curcumin, Tulsi. For cough you can take Ayurvedic cough syrup. In fever one should take Giloy tablet, Giloyghan vati and Giloy Capsules. So try to take natural things when struck with such infections. With Ayurvedic medicine the gut flora and intestinal bacteria get restore in their natural form. Now you don't take any allopathic medicines?

Rajeev: From last three months I am not taking any allopathic medicines. I am only taking medicines prescribed by you like Kutajghan vati, Pitta balance.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: So how many times you passed stool previously?

Rajeev: Previously I used to pass stool 10 times a day. Now I pass stool 1-2 times.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: And there is no bleeding too. So I just want to tell patients that either you see it as a cure or remission. From my side he is fine now. I call it cure because in remission patient has to take allopathic medicines. So if you are saying it is remission then you have to take allopathic medicines. But if you will say that it is cured then neither you will take allopathic nor Ayurvedic treatment. Now your Ayurvedic treatment will be stopped from today.

Rajeev: but I am insisting to take it for one month.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Ok, take it for one month then stop. So both allopathic and Ayurvedic treatments are stopped and still there are such patients who from last 10-12 years not taking any kind of medicines and they were diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. So we will call it a cure and not remission. As Ayurveda has such kind of medicines which are cooling, and astringent in nature, as it is a pitta predominant disease and one should avoid hot potency food.

Rajeev: I am totally on normal diet and will keep it in that way.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Previously you used to take fast food in excess?

Rajeev: Yes sir, I used to take it in excess. Even junk food, chicken all was in excess. Now I have stopped all these things. And will not take all these things again.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Did your weight have increased now.

Rajeev: I had lost 20 kg during this disease but since I have started taking your medicines, I have gain 5 kg. within three months.
